1. UBtech Update – Heather – total donated to Foundation was $14,929.60 including $1700 in sponsorships, and even a cash donation of $50 that came in after the auction. It was mentioned that we could begin advertising sooner, and include the silent auction items and the raffle items in the website. Another suggestion was to mount the display for a week in advance to build enthusiasm.
Our 3 year total donated by auction buyers is $29,707.20 (and by artists who made it possible)!
2. UBtech rotations – Art Call due May 1; Drop off/Pick up Tuesday, May 7 – 3:00 to 5:00

Last Art Call for 2024: December 30, Drop off & Pick up Tuesday, 1/7/2025, 3:00 to 5:00
3. Old Masters Challenge winners announced – Lori – People’s Choice Awards – Serious Study:
1st prize Cheryl Livingston Young – Girl with Pearl Earring; 2nd prize James Munford – Self Portrait
3rd prize Trista Merrell – Vincent’s Trees
People’s Choice Awards Parody: 1st prize Janeal Wilson – Mona Screama
2nd prize – Lori Gillman – Roar Rex; 3rd prize – Sherril Porter – Nappy Crossing the Carousel
4.Stephen Sandau – there is opportunity to display artwork in the new and renovation offices and hotels around town, but we should unite in encouraging the owners either to rent or purchase from us, rather than going out of town. If renting, we could rotate it annually, and apply rent paid to purchase price of the items. We should not provide artwork free of charge.
5. Dinosaurs we painted for the City of Vernal are expected to be placed in the renovated area behind Abby’s Café, but the area is not ready yet.
6. Plein Air workshop with Kimball Warren and David Dean July 11, 12, 13 – 9 enrolled so far – need one more to make minimum of 10 students, can have up to 20.
7. JWP Plein Air Competition, July 19 – 25 with reception on July 26 at library, 4:00 to 6:00 Early bird registration discount through the end of May
8. JWP River Festival – Art in Park July 26 & 27 – talk to Lori Gilman – free booth – members only
