To create one’s world in any of the arts takes courage.

Our Story
Uintah Basin Visual Arts was started in 2020 by a small group of highly motivated local artists and creatives with the shared goal of building a strong and vibrant art community in the Uintah Basin. A group that started out mostly as strangers grew into a very tight-knit organization as we continued to push through the unique challenges of the day in pursuit of our goal. From professional artists to amateurs, teachers, students, Basin natives and transplants, the members of UBVA come from near and far and all walks of life. We envision a community where the arts and creative expression bring people together and help tell the story of the Uintah Basin.
In collaboration with local organizations and leadership, UBVA has been able to develop opportunities and increase accessibility to the visual arts for both artists and art appreciators. We currently manage three rotating exhibits in partnership with the Vernal Innovation Hub, Uintah County Library, and Uintah Basin Technical College. Each summer, we host our annual plein air and photography competition which attracts painters and photographers both locally and from around the region.
Our mission is to serve our community by developing the quantity, quality and accessibility of the arts and culture of the Uintah Basin.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
